Organized Rebellion by Josh McNey
Casa de Costa gallery is pleased to announce Organized Rebellion, a new exhibition of work by Josh McNey featuring a broad collection of new photographic portraits, landscapes, still life, collage and illustrations created by the artist since 2010. This limited engagement exhibition runs for twelve days only, September 18th through September 29th, at Casa de Costa gallery in Manhattan’s Financial District.
“Josh’s practice has always focused on photography but like many of his contemporaries, he uses a wide range of disciplines to realize his artistic aims. This show gives viewers an unimpeded perspective on the crossover between the artist’s primary discipline - photography - and the building blocks of that practice,” said Jason Costa, owner of Casa de Costa gallery. “This is also Josh’s most revealing and explicit show, giving us an intimate look into the artist’s private life, his travels and obsessions. It constitutes a diary of his friends, family, lovers and muses.”
In addition to dozens of photographic prints, the exhibition features found images, mixed media collage, illustration and video. On opening night, Josh will debut “Zach Cruising”, an interactive performance in collaboration with artist Zachary Schoenhut.
The opening reception for Organized Rebellion will take place on September 18, 2013 from 6-9PM at Casa de Costa gallery.
