Casa de Costa gallery is pleased to announce Boy! Oh, Boy! an arrestingly beautiful collection of male photographic portraiture by twelve of the most influential contemporary artists working in this specialized genre. The exhibition will feature works by Kevin Amato, David Armstrong, Doug Ischar, Paul Jasmin, Christopher Makos, Josh McNey, Slava Mogutin, Jack Pierson, Walter Pfeiffer, Richard Renaldi, Paul Solberg, and Arthur Tress. Casa de Costa’s exhibition runs June 29th through August 15th, 2013.

 

“For this show, we’ve brought together the cream of the crop in contemporary male photographic portraiture. The collective creative output of the artists in this exhibition has profoundly influenced the depiction of the male form in contemporary art,” said Jason Costa, President and Founder of Casa de Costa. “Depictions of the male form are among the foundational elements of visual art, but the male portrait continues to be a charged and controversial genre. Pictures like these face continuing commercial and cultural resistance in the art world. This exhibition shines a light on the very best contemporary work in this area.”

 

The public reception for Boy! Oh, Boy! will take place on Saturday, June 29th during NYC Pride Weekend. Casa de Costa will host a rooftop BBQ from 3-7PM to celebrate this special show, and thank our contributing artists.
